Ashley Sherman, MSW, MEd, NBCT
I'm so happy to be part of the Ephesus family! After graduating from UNC-CH in 2007, I completed UNC's Master of Social Work program in 2009 and worked with a treatment foster care agency in Durham. I then returned to UNC and completed the Master of School Counseling program in 2012. I currently hold licensure as both a K-12 School Social Worker and an Advanced Graduate (Specialist) K-12 School Counselor. I am a professional member of the North Carolina School Counselor Association (NCSCA) and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). I am also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in K-12 School Counseling. I am passionate about partnering with students and families to empower them build upon strengths and meet their goals!

Colleen McKeel- School counselor Intern
I'm so excited to be joining the Ephesus family for the entirety of the 2021-2022 school year! I grew up in Durham and graduated from Meredith College in 2017 with a BA in Psychology. I have always had an interest in education and psychology, and my interest in working with elementary students was solidified when I worked as an elementary teacher assistant. I am currently enrolled in the UNC Chapel Hill School Counseling M.Ed program I approach school counseling from a strengths-based perspective and am looking forward to getting to know our students and learning about their unique strengths to help them reach their goals.Fun facts about Ms. McKeel:
- I love to watch women’s soccer, especially the US Women’s National Team.
- I have lots of indoor plants at home, and I enjoy watching them grow and change!
- I love doing anything crafty – especially knitting, embroidery, making collages, and painting.
